Academic Program (2019 - 2024)

The course requirements for the Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering total a minimum of 140 credit hours of formal coursework. The availability of a wide range and different types of elective courses is a significant advantage, adding flexibility to the program. Students may choose courses in production/manufacturing, operations research, decision and information sciences, and system modelling, ergonomics, financial modelling, energy and socio-economic systems, under the supervision of their advisors. The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect scientific advances as well as changing career requirements.

This curriculum has been approved by the University Senate in August 2019 and applies to those students who started the Freshman program in Industrial Engineering during the 2019-2020 academic year and Spring 2024 semester. If the student's entrance to the department is prior to 2019, the curriculum on this link applies. If the student's entrance to the department is in Fall 2024 or later, the curriculum on this link applies.

Course projects, independent projects and finally the senior graduate project are an important part of the undergraduate education, through which students gain research exposure. Selected undergraduate students work with faculty members as assistants in research projects. Students are also required to complete a total of 60 workdays of industrial training during the summer breaks.
